University members pedalled hard in CITY CYCLING 2025 and cycled a total of 3,730 km

In this year's CITY CYCLING Fulda, which ran from 25 May to 14 June 2025, the Fulda University of Applied Sciences team achieved 10th place within the city of Fulda.

With a total of 3,730 kilometres cycled, divided into 462 individual journeys by 33 active cyclists, the team secured a good place in the city rankings. The university was the team with the fourth most active participants, who cycled an average of 113 kilometres per person over the three weeks. The kilometres cycled correspond roughly to an avoidance of 550 kg of CO2 compared to the same distance travelled by car.

A total of 36 teams took part in this year's campaign in the city of Fulda and just over 200 in the district as a whole.

The aim of the nationwide CITY CYCLING campaign is to cover as many kilometres as possible by bike, both privately and professionally - for the promotion of cycling infrastructure, strong climate protection, a high quality of life and lots of fun on the bike.

We would like to thank all members of the university who took part in CITY CYCLING (again) this year and helped our team achieve such a good result! We would also like to encourage you, not only during the campaign, but also outside of it, to use the bicycle whenever possible as a health-promoting and climate-friendly alternative for your everyday journeys.

In order to strengthen cycling in Fulda, the city's new e-bike hire system "FuldaBike" was also opened in May. One of the system's bike hire stations is located directly on our university campus.
