Sustainability certificate successful :
Offer goes into the second round

Fulda University of Applied Sciences is pleased to be able to offer the successful sustainability certificate as an additional qualification for students again in the winter semester 2025/26. The basic module "Understanding and shaping sustainability: Principles, Perspectives and Transformation", which was introduced for the first time last summer semester, was very well received by participants and made a strong contribution to interdisciplinary education in the field of sustainability.

The first run of the module was completed in the summer with great success. The interdisciplinary nature of the event, in which students from all eight departments of the university took part, and the interactive approach were particularly appreciated by the participants. The variety of content and methods offered students the opportunity to engage intensively and creatively with practical tasks.

During the module, the students developed exciting project ideas, which they finally presented to their fellow students and the sustainability office. The innovative projects included

• an app for comparing sustainable banks
• a parlour game with a sustainable tour of Fulda
• a repair café on campus
• a concept for a workshop on the topic of zero waste
• a heat action plan for Fulda University of Applied Sciences
• "Lab benches" as places for social interaction and encounters
• as well as various ideas for sustainability nudges in Fulda

The students were particularly enthusiastic about the methods used, such as the "Sustain 2030" simulation game and the creative "Lego Serious Play" method, which helped them to work on complex topics and develop innovative solutions.

Due to the great interest and positive response, the basic module will now be offered again immediately in the coming winter semester. Interested students can register from 11 to 18 September 2025.
