The European Documentation Centre documents and provides access to the basic documents of the European Union (legal texts, Official Journal of the EU), the most important publications and periodicals of the European institutions and their subordinate institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, Statistical Office of the EU, etc.) In addition, online searches in the EU databases are possible in the European Documentation Centres.
The Centre aims at the transfer between science and political practice and builds on the Anglo-Saxon academic tradition and its "Schools of Governance". The Centre establishes cooperation with experts, politicians and representatives of international and supranational organisations as well as business enterprises, NGOs and think tanks - from representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Hessian State Representation to the EU to chambers of foreign trade and companies.
The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is proud to present an important archive. The archive on the subject of "Flight, Asylum and Migration" was donated by the Dortmund academic Prof Dr Peter Kühne.
The archive of the Research Centre for Flight and Migration (hereafter: FFM Archive) is one of the most comprehensive archives in Germany on the subject of flight and migration. In addition to articles from newspapers and magazines, the archive primarily contains grey literature that cannot be found in established libraries and institutes, as well as key and background texts on international migration and refugee policy.
The task of the scientific collection, which is integrated into the university and state library as a permanent facility, is to catalogue decentralised literature and archive holdings, relevant materials and documents that have not yet been recorded and to build up a special collection on the subject of sustainable regional development in the Rhön biosphere reserve.
