Main focus

Processes of globalisation and Europeanisation lead to new kinds of interdependence, exchange and dependency relationships between societies, economies and states, some within Europe and some worldwide. Against such a backdrop, interculturality gains central importance as a problem of action and design.

In the course of the opening and dissolution of borders in modern societies, spaces for experience and action, problems and new types of conflicts as well as options for action are emerging, which are the subject of the research and knowledge transfer activities of CINTEUS.

The diverse research activities of the CINTEUS members can be thematically assigned to three interdisciplinary research fields, the thematic field of globalisation, the thematic field of Europeanisation and European integration and the thematic field of interculturality.
