GOALS AND TASKS

The scientific centre ELVe is the successor institution of the scientific centre for catering, management and culinary arts (ZCMK) founded in 2010. The central topics of the ZCMK focused on sustainable supply, catering and service concepts for private and large households. With the reconstitution of the centre, its thematic field expanded, so that the scientific centre ELVe covers a wide range of topics. Centre ELVe supervises and supports a wide range of activities in the fields of natural sciences and technology, household and social sciences, economics and computer science.

The tasks of the scientific centre ELVe include:

  • Coordination and promotion of research activities,
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of inter- and transdisciplinary research projects,
  • Further development of the topic-related research infrastructure,
  • Mutual transfer of knowledge between research and practice as well as society,
  • Organisation of scientific symposia, working conferences and workshops,
  • Maintenance of non-university networks (universities, companies, institutions, associations, etc.),
  • Promotion of interdisciplinary teaching and qualification as well as student theory-practice projects,
  • Qualification of young academics by linking them to research activities,
  • Support for doctorates (junior researcher college, networking, subject-specific further training courses).
