Conference Review 30 November - 01 December 2017, University of Applied Sciences Fulda
82 interested people from science and practice attended the conference "Social Innovations: Age(s) in Rural Areas". The conference focused on social innovations to maintain and increase the quality of life of older people in rural areas.
The practical research projects "Citizens' assistance associations and cooperatives for senior citizens as partners in the provision of public services - model development for supplementary assistance for older people in rural areas (BUSLAR)" and "CulinaryandHealth@Home - enjoyment, health, work and markets in the culture of old age (GGAMA)" dealt with the challenges of care and participation of older people in social life in very different ways. The potentials, but also the limits of commitment and co-responsibility in shaping one's life situation were examined.
The numerous visitors followed interesting lectures on research in the research field of social innovations for rural areas and discussed these as well as the presented findings from the two practical research projects, put them into the context of their own experiences and used the opportunity to network with other participants and to develop new research perspectives and cooperations.
