Social work facilities, as central actors in local social policy, have only limited capacity for reflection and systematic exchange with research. At the same time, however, a great need passes for insights into the design of social services (practice research), especially against the background of continuous social change. This need could be met in part through practice-oriented theses by students and thus support sustainability. The ApraxSA project (practice-oriented theses in social work), to which the presentation is dedicated, aims to support such practice-oriented theses and thus also enable innovations for practice.
As current supervision arrangements between placement providers, universities and students are often not designed for the use of theses for practice-based research, the project aims to identify factors that support and hinder practice-oriented theses from the perspective of the individual stakeholders (students, instructors, practice). The central question here is how it is possible to make academic and practical perspectives directly compatible with each other so that theory and practice can benefit directly from each other.
The course is open to the public and attendance is free of charge. Students are very welcome!
