28 January 2026, from 3.30 pm R 21.023

The development of quality in children's day-care facilities requires an inter-perspective view that combines the perspectives of all users: children, parents and employees.

As part of the BMBF research project "Transfer of innovative participation strategies" led by Prof. Dr Sabine Lingenauber, the spatial needs of children, parents and employees were recorded as examples in order to include them in the redesign of their already passing children's day-care facilities. The aim of the research project was to develop an inter-perspective participation model for the redesign of children's day-care facilities that is transferable to other facilities and increases the influence of day-care centre users on the design of new buildings.

Methodologically, the research project was based on the participatory research approach "Mosaic Approach" and combined different verbal and non-verbal methods. For example, the children's perspective was collected with the help of videotaped tours of their pass children's day-care facilities and by exploring children's day-care facilities that were unknown to them. In this way, we expanded the children's ideas of how children's day-care facilities can be designed.

Key findings relating to the three stakeholder groups (children, parents and employees) are presented in the Bachelor's programme.

The colloquium is a public course. Students and interested professionals are welcome to attend. Attendance is free of charge.
