The global rise in obesity rates and diet-related diseases, the growing evidence of the harmful environmental impact of current food systems and global distributional inequalities in agricultural economics pose major challenges for nutrition communication.

German and international specialist organisations are calling for a significant reduction in the consumption of animal-based foods in favour of plant-based nutrition. However, concrete recommendations and implementation proposals are currently highly polarised. Science-based nutrition communication always means weighing up and balancing conflicting objectives - but it also benefits from critical discourse and a variety of different perspectives. We would like to make this diversity of perspectives the subject of this year's ELVe annual conference.

You can look forward to the latest research findings and exciting discussions on the topics of "sustainable nutrition" and "nutrition communication".
