Even though diversity research in Germany has primarily developed from gender and migration research, the working group claims to go beyond this and also take a broad intersectional perspective on socio-political and social law topics that focus in particular on gender but also age(s) as characteristics of social inequalities. The working group will strengthen an interdisciplinary discussion on social practices for dealing with diversity. Sociologists, educationalists, social work scientists, political scientists, psychologists and lawyers bring together discourses on (anti-)discrimination, solidarity, professionalism, democratisation, social sustainability and transformation. In a transdisciplinary manner, the perspectives of practice, especially social work, are included in the basic and applied practical research. The working group is open to all qualification levels and organises at least one presentation in the "Diversity Research" series every semester.
