Professorship of Embedded Systems in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

Tobias Sprodowski has joined the team at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The 38-year-old computer scientist has been appointed to the newly created professorship of Embedded Systems.

After completing his university studies in computer science at Leibniz University Hannover, the Haldensleben-born Hanoverian by choice worked in software development at Buhl Tax Service GmbH from 2011. In 2014, he moved to the University of Bremen in the specialist field of Dynamics in Logistics and obtained his doctorate in 2021 on the coordination of autonomous distributed systems.

Tobias Sprodowski worked at BIBA - the Bremen Institute of Production and Logistics - until 2023, during which time he developed an algorithm for the efficient dynamic loading and unloading of vehicles at the BLG car terminal in Bremerhaven, one of the largest car ports in the world. He also worked on didactic, interactive online teaching methods for mobile robotics. Since November last year, he has been teaching and researching at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences on the specialisations of embedded systems, mobile robotics and efficient programming.
