Inventors' Fair at Fulda University of Applied Sciences

12 Jun 2023

Under the motto "Invent2Innovate", students will present creative solutions on 16 and 17 June, for example for the optimisation of industrial processes and in the field of robotics.

A clever solar module that automatically aligns itself with the sun; a robot hand modelled on the human hand that increases productivity and flexibility in production, assembly and quality assurance; a Bobby Car with an electric drive that focuses on the integration of an emission-free, efficient and fast drive system - these are just three of many innovative solutions that students from the technical degree programmes at Fulda University of Applied Sciences have come up with. They are now presenting them to the public for the first time at the Inventors' Fair.

The solutions were developed in the module "Mechanical Design" as well as in the context of case studies, which are integrated cross-sectionally in the curriculum of the study courses of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The electric Bobby Car, which is to set a world record in the summer, was also developed here. "Our own ideas can be implemented just as much as questions that companies approach us with," explains Professor Dr.-Ing. Tobias Müller from the Mechatronics Department of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. He heads the fair project and emphasises: "In some cases, the student project teams provide solutions to very concrete problems from practice."

The idea behind the Inventors' Fair is therefore not only to inspire prospective students to study technology and to attract more skilled workers. "We also want to use the format to make the creative ideas and innovative solutions accessible to regional companies and to further expand cooperation with companies in the region," emphasises Professor Tobias Müller. Therefore, the Inventors' Fair is also expressly aimed at practitioners in the region.

The event will take place on both days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Hall 8 on the campus of Fulda University of Applied Sciences. Participation is free of charge and possible without prior registration.

An overview of all the solutions that will be presented at the Inventors' Fair is available at www.hs-fulda.de/fachbereiche/elektrotechnik-und-informationstechnik/erfindermesse.
