Living and working sustainably in the smart city

15 Jun 2023

Meeting of the Friends of the Faculty of Applied Computer Science (FAI e. V.) on 22 June 2023

This year's topic is the digitalisation of the city (society). In short presentations, experts from companies and municipalities will first present current projects for sustainable living and working in the intelligently networked city of tomorrow: from digital infrastructure as a public service to digital building management and digital heating networks.

The subsequent panel discussion will focus on the particular challenge of digitalising the city and urban society from various specialist perspectives such as IT security, health ecology, technology and society. Under the question "What is smart about smart cities?", scientists will explore the pros and cons of smart cities.

"The conference offers the region the opportunity to exchange experiences and a good opportunity to initiate cooperation with the university," emphasises Professor Dr. Jörg Kreiker, Vice President for Digitalisation at Fulda University of Applied Sciences.

The event begins at 1.30 pm and ends at 5 pm. Beforehand, there will be an opportunity to visit fibit'23, which is taking place on campus at the same time.
