Our services are not only aimed at researchers at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. We also provide information on research funding for interested companies and institutions that want to plan and carry out research and development projects together with Fulda University of Applied Sciences.

Support for researchers at Fulda University of Applied Sciences

The team national research funding offers researchers at Fulda University of Applied Sciences a comprehensive range of services. You can contact us with a finalised proposal idea and also with first project ideas. We will then be happy to discuss with you the best ways and means of realising them.

Fulda University of Applied Sciences provides internal research funding every year. These funds serve, for example, to develop innovative research ideas, prepare for larger externally funded projects and to initiate interdisciplinary research projects. If you have any questions about whether your project idea is suitable for an internal call for proposals, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Research and develop together
Together with researchers from Fulda University of Applied Sciences, you will conduct research on an applied topic that affects your organisation. Your project group will receive support regarding project content and organisation. Projects can be funded at regional, national and international level. Contract research projects
We also carry out contract research and provide you with competent and solution-oriented support in the concretisation and implementation of your project. Our academic networks make it possible to set up thematic research groups.

Within a collaboration project, also students and postgrads can be involved within the scope of their BSc, MSc, and PhD projects. We will gladly assist you to make contact to respective researchers in our departments.

ELFI - Electronic Research Funding Information

The ELFI database centralises information on research funding and makes it accessible to all universities. The entire spectrum of the German research funding landscape as well as a large number of European and international funding programmes are available in the online database. Tender texts, information sheets and forms can be downloaded directly from the Internet.

Research, International and Transfer Information Service - FIT for Science

FIT is an e-mail service that provides you with targeted and customised information on research funding. You can register in FIT with your e-mail address (domain "... @hs-fulda.de") and create a personalised user profile.

Comprehensive advice

The team for EU research funding and international research and transfer relations advices and supports university members and external partners with EU project applications, from the selection of the right program to project implementation. It offers a comprehensive advisory service in the areas of research, education, innovation and transfer. Applicants are guided through the entire process of applying for and implementing EU-funded projects.

    Excellent research requires excellent support: Our research support team is available to provide you with all necessary information to make your research prosposal a success. We support you along the entire process of application, realisation and public outreach.

    In 2016, Fulda University of Applied Sciences was the first university of applied sciences (HAW) in Germany to be granted the right to award doctorates in social sciences with a focus on globalisation, European integration and interculturality. Other disciplines have since been added with the right to award doctoral degrees.

    Professors can award doctorates in their field of research to their graduates and also to graduates from other colleges and universities, supporting academic careers at universities of applied sciences.

    If you would like to supervise or assess a doctorate, there are differences between doctorates with independent doctoral authorisation and cooperative doctorates that are carried out in collaboration with a university. You can find out more on the following pages:

    Working Group for Academic Continuing Education (AGWW): The AGWW is an association of Hessian universities, of which Fulda University of Applied Sciences is also a member. The subject areas of the joint continuing education programme include leadership skills, university didactics, university development, methodological skills and social skills. In addition, special education programmes are also offered. The course programme is accredited by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior. More at AGWW Hessen.

    Further training programmes for doctoral candidates: Special education programmes are offered for doctoral candidates, which can take place at various universities. The aim of these programmes is to support doctoral candidates and those interested in doing a doctorate in their doctoral work and along the way in order to prepare them for their professional career.     The statutes regulate, among other things, what good scientific practice means at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and how misconduct is to be dealt with. It is based on the recommendations of the German Research Foundation.

    The Fulda University of Applied Sciences maintains a committee for the assessment of fundamental ethical questions of research and ethical questions of academic research on humans. This includes foundational research, epidemiological research with personal data and research with therapeutic objectives.
