Special scholarship programme for women

The EXIST-Women programme aims to encourage women at universities and research institutions to venture into self-employment so that more women will be managing directors, shareholders, co-founders and founders of innovative start-ups in the future.

In exciting workshops and courses, we support you in your personal development, brainstorming (if you don't have an idea yet) and in shaping and further developing your business idea. Having an idea at the start of the program is not a condition; this can be developed over the course of the programme.

The program is accompanied by offers from the Federal Ministry of Business and Climate Protection (BMWK), where you can network with prospective female founders from all over Germany.

How do you benefit from this?

  • Exciting workshops, coaching sessions and courses on the topic of start-ups and the personality of female founders
  • (Further) development of your start-up idea
  • Networking with inspiring female founders
  • Mentoring and exchange with role models from the start-up scene
  • 2000 € in kind per person for individual coaching and travel expenses
  • 3 months scholarship

Who is supported and how?

You have the opportunity to receive a three-month scholarship so that you can devote yourself fully to your start-up idea. The amount of the scholarship depends on your qualifications:

  • Female students who have completed at least half of their achievements: €1,000 per month
  • Graduates with a university degree: €2,500 per month
  • Female founders with a doctorate: €3,000 per month
  • For dependent children of women, €150 per child per month is granted as a child allowance.
  • A maximum of 20 hours per week may be spent in gainful employment during the scholarship.
