Donated by Prof. Dr Kühne, one of the most renowned researchers in the subject area of "Flight, Asylum and Migration", the Peter Kühne Archive is one of the most comprehensive collections of materials on the subject of flight, asylum and migration in Germany. The archive is located in the University and State Library.
The archive of the Research Society on Flight and Migration (in Building 22, Department of Social and Cultural Sciences) is also one of the most comprehensive archives on the topic of flight and migration. Originating as a working archive in Berlin, the documents available (published and non-published materials) served the Research Society Flight and Migration as a basis for its own publications.
The task of the scientific collection UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Rhön, now integrated into the university and state library as a permanent institution, is to index decentrally existing literature and archive holdings, previously unrecorded relevant materials and documents, as well as to build up a special collection on the topic of sustainable regional development in the Biosphere Reserve Rhön.
