The examinations for the language centre courses are "university-wide examinations", i.e. they do not belong to specific study programmes.
Search for the language (e.g. German) or the course title under "Search university-wide examinations".
Click on"Details" of an examination to find the date, examiner and location and then register if necessary.
Important: The examinations are offered to course participants. Exam participation is only possible in exceptional cases! (Examiner must be contacted in advance.)
General information on the TOEFL itp
At the Fulda University of Applied Sciences the version TOEFL itpLevel 1 (intermediate to advanced) is offered at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and is provided and evaluated externally by the TOEFL provider. Participants receive a score report on the number of points achieved (310-677 points). However, the TOEFL itp is usually only recognised by the university offering the test. Each university decides on exceptional cases itself.
The TOEFL itp at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is conducted in person (not digitally). It passes three multiple-choice test sections. There is no "Writing" section and no "Speaking" section.

TOEFL registration
Please register for the desired test date using the online form. The registration confirmation and the invoice will be sent by e-mail. The test fee is € 60.00. The TOEFL itp is evaluated by an external provider, not in Fulda.
Participants will receive the results of the TOEFL itp after approx. 2 weeks. (The language centre assumes no liability as the results are determined externally and sent by post).
The score report (certificate) can be collected from the secretariat of the SK department (room 22.202) or will be sent by post on request.

You can take the "TOEIC Reading and Listening" English test at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences.

Attendance at the test costs € 60 for students and € 110 for external students.
For the DAAD language certificate, you can make an individual appointment at the Centre for Intercultural Language Practice (IKS). For English, please register by email with Mr Marek Liwoch: . For other languages, please register with Sabine Kirschenhofer (Head of Language Centre): .
A fee of €45 is charged for attendance at the DAAD test in accordance with the scale of fees. An invoice will be issued with your registration.
The language certificate allocates your respective knowledge in the general and specialised language areas of reading comprehension, written and oral expression, from category a (effortless use of language) to category f (extreme difficulties in expression and comprehension), as you can see from the language certificate form.
The English test takes about 45 minutes and passes the following parts:
- Writing a motivation letter of at least 300 words.
- Reading a subject-related text (reading time 20-30 minutes).
- Examination interview of 20-30 minutes in which you answer questions about the prepared subject-related text and the letter of motivation.
DAAD tests in other languages depend on the examinee's previous knowledge.
At the end of the interview, you will be issued with the DAAD language certificate.
Early registration is advisable, as dates depend on the availability of the language lecturers.
The foreign language certificate is an optional study programme offered by the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences. It is open to students of all study programmes.
For the foreign language certificate, language courses totalling 6 SWS in English, French or Spanish must be taken. The English foreign language certificate can be obtained in various specialised languages. Compulsory specialist language courses at least at level B2 can be recognised as part of the certificate programme on application.
After successfully completing the certificate courses, participants receive the foreign language certificate at level B2 or C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The condition for attendance of the certificate programme is good previous knowledge at the starting level of B2.1 in the respective language.
