Legal basis:
§ 44 HHG Departmental Council
(1) The Departmental Council advises on matters of fundamental importance to the department. It is in charge of:
1. issuing examination regulations and study programme regulations,
2. proposals for the establishment and discontinuation of study programmes,
3. coordination of research projects,
4. proposals for development planning,
5. statements on target agreements in accordance with § 7 para. 3,
6. decisions on the professorial appointment proposal of the appointment committee,
7. Decisions according to § 25, proposals according to § 26 and assignments according to § 32 para. 4,
8. Proposals for the establishment and cancellation of academic and technical facilities,
9. Decisions on the establishment and cancellation of working groups,
10. Regulation of the use of departmental facilities within the framework of usage regulations(s).
(2) The Departmental Council shall consist of seven members of the professorial group, three students, two academic members and one administrative-technical member, at a university of applied sciences six members of the professorial group, four students and one academic or one administrative-technical member. The members of the Dean's Office belong to the Departmental Council in an advisory capacity.
(3) The Dean chairs the Departmental Council.
(4) After the education and merging of departments, the Senate shall appoint a Departmental Council until the members have been chosen in accordance with para. 2.

Tasks
The Examination Board is in charge of all study programmes in the Department of Social Work.
The Examination Board is responsible for the following tasks in particular:
- Determining the examination dates and resident's registration deadlines for the examinations and their announcement; at least one examination date must be scheduled per semester,
- Decisions on examination admissions,
- Decisions on oral repeat examinations in accordance with § 14 para. 2,
- Monitoring compliance with the examination regulations,
- Suggestions for reforming the university studies and examination regulations,
- organising the transfer of examination performances completed outside of the applicable degree programme examination regulations
- Appointment of examiners and assessors (examination committees)
to the examination regulations >>
