For all people, health forms a supporting foundation for their social situation, and conversely, integration into the social fabric is a central conditional factor for health. Health is an essential dimension of social inequality and is becoming increasingly important in all fields of social work. The importance of social work in the health sector is very great in view of the close interconnectedness of health parameters and socio-structural variables. Societal change creates a problem-solving and innovation pressure in the entire health and social care system that can only be mastered in close connection of the two. The research projects focusing on "health" at the Department of Social Work at Fulda University of Applied Sciences operate at this interface and participate in the development of the care system.
