Project description:

How can people with disabilities be supported in developing life plans? How can innovative support arrangements be designed that integrate the resources of the social space? These are the questions that the Hamburg model project Social Space-Oriented Integration Assistance is investigating. The project organisers are BHH Sozialkontor gGmbH, Evangelische Stiftung Alsterdorf, F&W Fördern & Wohnen AöR, Leben mit Behinderung Hamburg Sozialeinrichtungen gGmbH and Stiftung Das Rauhe Haus in cooperation with the Hamburg social authorities.

Five providers of integration support in Hamburg have developed professional guidelines for their social space-oriented work: Based on the will of people with impairments, they support combining personal and socio-spatial as well as professional and non-professional resources into a custom-fit support setting. The solutions are cross-SGB, independent of providers and open-ended.

Fulda University of Applied Sciences has been commissioned to evaluate the pilot project. A mix of methods is planned, including structured documentation of the support arrangements, surveys on the participation situations and focus groups on conditions for success.
