Department: Social Work

"Social Participation - Entrepreneurial Responsibility" is the title of an ongoing project funded under the R&D funding programme "Research for Practice" and led by Professor Dr Bettina Stoll (internal cooperation partner: Professor Dr Heike Herrmann, research assistant: Madeleine Guinard Rudat).

The research project takes up the process and the necessity of a changing distribution of roles and tasks between state, economy and civil society and is thus located in a transdisciplinary research field. At the centre of the research idea is the concept and creation of social participation opportunities for people (and groups): Can and to what extent can the socio-political goal of professional social work to enable all citizens to participate be supported by companies entering into cooperation with social organisations within the framework of their social responsibility (CSR) as corporate citizens (companies as citizens with rights and duties)? Among other things, expert interviews with representatives from companies that already cooperate with social organisations will provide an answer. For organisations in the social economy, the research project should, among other things, make clear whether/what significance and explosiveness can be attributed to such cooperation in order to achieve their social mission.
