Our practice portal offers students and alumni of the Department of Social Work a data protection-compliant platform on which they can connect directly with our practice partners in the social sector.
Organisations and institutions can independently post and manage job offers for students and alumni as well as internships. Before being activated, all advertisements are carefully checked by our placement office to ensure a high level of quality.
Use of the practice portal is free of charge!
✅Activate account
Log in directly to the portal with your regular fd number and the corresponding password. When you first log in, enter your degree programme, your current semester and your search criteria. Optionally, you can complete your user profile later and make it visible to recruiters.
🔎Find jobs
You can activate the following filters in the search mask under "Hochschule Fulda Filter":
- Sozialwesen = All job advertisements that have been checked and approved by the Department of Social Work.
- Praxissemester BASA-P = Internships that are suitable for the internship semester.
- Kindheit und Jugend BASA-P = Jobs in the field of child and youth welfare that are suitable for practical work as part of the co-operative study option.

For access with any e-mail address, you must first register HERE >>
You will receive a confirmation link by e-mail and enter your year of graduation, the degree programme you completed and your search criteria when you first register. You can complete your profile later and also make it visible to recruiters.
TIP: If you have already used the practice portal during your studies, you do not need to register again. Change your email address in the account settings before exmatriculating and then reset your password. This will allow you to log in with any email address once the fd number and university email address are no longer valid.

Activate the filter Sozialwesen under "Hochschule Fulda Filter" in the search mask to see the job advertisements that have been checked and approved by the Department of Social Services. In addition, set the contract type to employment/permanent position to exclude student jobs from the results.

Before you can log in to the administration area of the portal, you must register. You have two options for this:
1. company account
If you would like to present your organisation or institution in detail, select a company profile. Your job advertisements can be highlighted as partner job offers for searchers if all the criteria (see below) are met.

If you only want to publish job vacancies, create a "recruiter profile". However, it is then not possible to post partner vacancies.

Create ✏️job ads
Be sure to select the keyword "Sozialwesen" for jobs and internships that should be easy to find for students and graduates of the Department of Social Work. Only adverts with this keyword will be checked and managed by our department.
Criteria for publications in the practice portal of Fulda University of Applied Sciences:
- Advertisements with the keyword "social work" must be related to social work.
- The offers should be explicitly aimed at students or graduates.
- Please use gender-appropriate language when formulating your job advertisement(s).
- Jobs for working students should be compatible with studying and living in Fulda or the surrounding area. For this reason, we generally do not advertise working student positions outside the greater Fulda region (radius of around 100 km).
- Temporary and part-time jobs not related to the subject (e.g. in catering) will be considered if the place of work is in Fulda (+ approx. 20 km) and the job is compatible with full-time studies at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. Select the keyword "German- or English-speaking" for job advertisements of this type.
Criteria for partner vacancies:
- In the practice portal, "partners" are defined as organisations and institutions that participate in career events at Fulda University of Applied Sciences or cooperate with us in other ways, for example if students have completed their practical semester or practical phase there or will do so in the future.
- Practice partners of the Faculty of Social Work offer activities in the field of social work and employ state-recognised social workers/social education workers on a full-time basis.
- Before being published, all advertisements with the keyword "Sozialwesen" are carefully checked by our placement office to ensure a high level of quality.
- Internships that are suitable for an internship semester and jobs in the field of child and youth welfare are labelled with additional keywords to make them easier for students to find.
- We usually check incoming job offers and company profiles several times a week. Approval can take up to three working days under certain circumstances.
