Writing Workshop | SchreibNight 2023

The SchreibNight programme is ready!

Below you can find out what will be happening at SchreibNight and when. We are especially happy if you are already there for the kick-off and maybe even a little earlier to check in. But of course: You can still arrive at any time and even after setting goals at the beginning, you can still formulate an individual writing or learning goal and leave it on our wall of goals.

Those who work through until midnight are welcome to share and celebrate their achievements at the witching hour.

Programme

What's up? WritingNight Programme 2023

Changes are possible at short notice. Therefore, it is best to check back here shortly before the SchreibNight!

15.45-23.30Check-in, info & writing consultation registration at the check-in desk
From 15.45 the check-in desk will be manned. All participants are kindly asked to pick up a participation ribbon and some information there.
16.15-16.30Kick-off: My smart writing goals!
With concrete, measurable and motivating goals, working on your own writing project is often much more effective. But even if you primarily want to clarify questions at SchreibNight, you can take a step forward by formulating smart goals. Of course, you can also add your goal to the wall of goals later if you can't be there for the kick-off. | Elisa Menhofer
16.30-24.00Writing consultation
Almost during the entire SchreibNight you can spontaneously sign up at the check-in desk for writing consultations by the Writing Workshop team. As soon as someone is free, we will come to your table for a consultation.
16.30-17.00What is academic writing?
Writing term papers is not just about "writing", it is about scientific writing. What does that mean exactly, how does one go about it and what should be observed and what should be avoided? And how can you plan and motivate yourself to do academic writing? | Guest article by Professor Claudia Wiesner, Department of Social and Cultural Sciences
17.00-20.00Research and Citavi consultations
You can't find any literature on your topic or can't cope with databases? The formatting of the bibliography created with Citavi doesn't work? The research professionals at the library can help! | Anke Lawerenz and Kai Deutschländer
17.30-18.00How do I structure an empirical thesis?

Unfortunately, Mr. Maurer has fallen ill at short notice. As a substitute, we will moderate a round of talks on questions about writing empirical theses.

Are you planning to conduct and evaluate a survey for your thesis? Or do you want to analyse data from another source in detail yourself? Then it is important to understand what belongs in such a paper and how it can be structured. | Guest article by Professor Kai-Oliver Maurer, Department of Business and Economics
