Writing Workshop | SchreibNight 2020

The time has come ...

The programme for SchreibNight 2020 is set! On Wednesday, 4 March from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Self-Study Centre will be reserved for writing. Those who just want to write in peace can do so in the quiet room. In the large room, people can also talk, groups can work together and everyone can be infected by the writing hustle and bustle and the energy of work.

Anyone who wants to can get advice on all questions and topics related to writing or get feedback on their own text - from structure to citation, general approaches to academic writing or academic language. In addition, two research professionals from the library will help you find the right sources for your work in databases from 6 to 8 pm.

At 6, 8 and 10 p.m. there will be mini-workshops on writing topics (see programme below), which will invite you to reflect, exchange ideas and do your own work. And in the writing café you can not only keep awake with drinks containing coffee and tea and fortify yourself with small snacks, but also try out tips from our writing buffet.

Plus: The later the hour, the more moving the break: University sports will once again offer FiduS Bewegte Pausen!

8 pmRecognising and classifying scientific sources
Term papers and theses require scientific sources. But what are scientific sources? And for what purposes do we use different types of sources?
22 o'clockEmbedding quotations linguistically
Sources are embedded linguistically in the text in different ways depending on the subject and the rhetorical goal. In this workshop, we will reflect on the differences using examples and then experiment linguistically ourselves.
