Save the Date: First dates for the start of studies

Our first-semester students will start their studies with introductory events from 17th October 2022 with information and introductory events. Regular teaching will begin on Thursday, 24th October 2022.

Dates & Events

Get to know the Department of Applied Computer Science and our mentors in the first week of lectures. Besides a welcome from the president of our univerity you will receive information regarding your study programmme, timetable compilation, eLearning system and a look inside our laboratories.
These introductory events are a great way of getting to know your fellow students, the campus and the canteen.
The exact dates will be published by the end of july 2022.

Student user identification number

After your matriculation, you will receive your student user identification with an initial password via e-mail.
Please change your initial password as soon as possible, regard the hints given.

Your student user identification is needed for all services offerd by Fulda University of Applied Sciences. It allows you to...

  • receive and send mails with your university email address
  • log in to horstl
  • log in to e-learning platform moodle
  • log in to the network of university and your department
  • log in to the university WLAN

University email address

You will receive your university email address with your matriculation documents (usually forename.surname@informatik.hs-fulda.de). Using your student user identification number, you can access your emails at webmail.hs-fulda.de.
Don't worry if it does not work instantly. It can take up to two weeks untill your email address is activated.
If problems occur, contact our IT Support via email to support(at)rz.hs-fulda.de.

All important information from Fulda University of Applied Sciences will be sent to this email address. Make sure to check it regularly. Members of the department will communicate exclusively via this email address.

ID card/chip card

After matriculaton you will be asked (via email) to upload a photo for your chip card. Only after your photo has been uploaded, your chip card will be sent to you by post. More information can be found at hs-fulda.de/chipkarte.

The chipcard works as your student ID card, semester ticket, library card, copy card and can be used to pay in our cafeteria.

Horstl

Log in to Horstl at horstl.hs-fulda.de using your student user identification number. With Horstl you can ...

  • enrol on modules (timetable)
  • sign up for examinations
  • check your programme structure
  • access certifications
  • update your personal data
  • reregistrate for your studies

Moodle (eLearning)

On our eLearning platform moodle you find information on different topics  (video):

  • courses with information and teaching documents on the modules
  • imformation regarding studying (examinations, period abroad, courses, FAQs)
  • internship
  • consultation hours

Log in to moodle after matriculation (video).

Your timetable

Take your courses
Timetables will be published on 15th September 2021 in horstl. Enrol in your modules in horstl from 16.09. (9:00am) to 19th October 2021 (23:59pm). Within the registration period you can log in to Horstl and enrol at "VERANSTALTUNGEN UND PRÜFUNGEN" > "Vorlesungsverzeichnis anzeigen".  The modules are not allocated on the basis of "first come first serve" but by an algorithm.

Timetable publication
Your personal timetable will be created on 20th October 2021 and published by the afternoon in moodle. You will receive a mail to your university email address as well.
Start of lectures: 21st October 2021

  • you can set priorities for your desired date of the modules
  • when the timetables have been created you can take free spaces from 21st October 2021, 9:00am - first come, first serve principle

Library card

As a student of Fulda University of Applied Sciences your library account will be activated automatically. Before you use it the first time, set a password (you will receive a mail to your university email address). You can find your personal library card number on the back of your chip card.

Hints regarding the configuration of your online access can be found in your matriculation documents or at hs-fulda.de/hlb > Service > Ausleihe > Bibliotheksausweis > für Studierende der HS Fulda.
