About the person:
Reinhold Jakobi is Senior Vice President at the Nestlé Headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland, and holds since January 2017 the position of Head of the Nestlé Professional Strategic Business Unit.
Reinhold started his career at the age of 16 with a butcher’s apprenticeship, following which he worked in various small and medium-size companies in Germany and Switzerland, before entering the family butcher business, where he specialised in the manufacture and retailing of meat and meat products. He received his Master Butcher’s Degree in 1988.
In 1994, after obtaining a first academic degree (Diplom) in Food and Nutrition, with focus on business administration, at the University for Applied Sciences in Fulda, Germany. Reinhold entered the airline catering industry with LSG Sky Chefs, a Lufthansa subsidiary, the largest global airline catering company. During this period, he held various positions of increasing responsibility, starting with Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Frankfurt.
He then moved to Thailand as Deputy General Manager and Operations Manager for the Thai operation, followed by a transfer to Hong Kong, initially as Deputy General Manager and Customer Service Manager, and then as General Manager of the Hong Kong operation.
Reinhold joined Nestlé in 2001, based in Beijing, China, and was responsible for the Nestlé Professional and Industrial Sales Business Units of the Greater China Region (Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan). From 2009 to 2011, Reinhold was Vice President, Regional Management of Zone Asia, Oceania and Africa, based at Nestlé’s Headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland, responsible for the four ASEAN, Greater China Region and Korea markets. In 2012, Reinhold was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé Turkey.
Three years later, he returned to China to take over the position of Managing Director, Nestlé Food & Beverages, Greater China Region, which includes China’s Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. In this position, Reinhold was responsible for a large part of the Nestlé Group’s second largest market. Between 2006 and 2008, Reinhold participated in various programmes at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, and obtained his EMBA from the same institution.
Reinhold was born in 1966 in Darmstadt, Germany. He is married, with two children.
