LifeCycle Catering is designed as an online-learning degree programme. This means that students learn autonomous in an online-course-system, called moodle. The  department provide for them a large number of lecture notes and exercises, which are individually prepared for online-learning. They online come for 2-3 stages at university per semester. The degree programme is therefore a blended-learning degree programme. 

How is the programme structured?

The study programme of LifeCycle Catering is designed as a full-time dual degree programme. Studies generally last eight semesters.
Training-integrated students finish their training course alongside their studies in the first four semesters, whereas practice-integrated students widen their professional skills through relevant practical work experiences. 
Students have to acquire a broad knowledge of natural, technical, economic and social sciences in the first four semesters.
In the following courses the deepen their basics (5th – 8th semester). In addition they get a special knowledge in the fields of catering and supply services. With the help of two modules, elected out of 5 modules, they can personalize their own profile.
The 6th and 7th semester are characterized by project work, in order to promote interdisciplinary thinking and acting. 
By preparing their bachelor-thesis at the 8th semester the students successfully complete their studies. 

After graduation

Students get a double qualification because of studying and working at the same time. The chances of being taken on at the end of your studies are high, as you have already gained experience of the world of work while you were studying.

For a training-integrated study programme:

  • University entrance qualification
  • Training contract with a cooperation partner of Fulda University for a profession as cook, as management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade, as industrial management assistant or in similar fields
  • Study contract with a cooperation partner of Fulda University

For a practice-integrated study programme:

  • University entrance qualification
  • successful completed training as cook, as management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade, as industrial management assistant or in similar fields- Working contract with a cooperation partner of Fulda University
  • Study contract with a cooperation partner of Fulda University
