Fulda Graduate Centre of Social Sciences

Globalisation, European Integration, Interculturality

The interdisciplinary Doctoral Centre of Social Sciences combines the fields of sociology, political science, communication science, law and economics.

The centre is built on the foundation of social science research orientation, theory building and methodology. Our thematic focus includes the areas of

Globalisation
European Integration
Interculturality

Research on socially relevant issues is combined with an international and interdisciplinary education.

In 2016, Fulda University of Applied Sciences (HAW) was the first university nationwide to receive the right to award doctoral degrees in social sciences with a focus on globalization, European integration and interculturality.

Upon successful completion, our doctoral students earn the academic degree Dr. rer. soc.
