How do I find the right support for me?

There are many ways to finance your doctorate. Part-time jobs, student loans, short-term funding or full scholarships –  the list is long, and it is often difficult to keep track of all available options. 

As soon as your vision for your research project is established, it can be helpful to sit down with a scholarship advisor and look at possible scholarship opportunities. We offer an initial overview here.


Scholarships at Fulda University of Applied Sciences

Fulda University of Applied Sciences regularly announces scholarships. Conferences, publications and further education can also be financially supported.

In addition, the individual departments advertise relevant scholarships. Open scholarships are collected and organized centrally.

Start-up funding for doctoral candidates

The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences offers short-term scholarships for graduates of Fulda University of Applied Sciences, who wish to pursue a doctorate. The start-up funding supports promising candidates in developing initial ideas for their research project. The aim is to prepare a detailed exposé for application to the Social Sciences Doctoral Centre.

Applications can be submitted at any time. The number of scholarships to be awarded is limited to three per year.
