I WANT TO MASTER MY SUPERVISORY DUTIES WITH CONFIDENCE.

Our practice-oriented one-day seminar will manage you through the conflicting priorities of law and education so that you can act confidently and safely in supervisory situations.

The topic of supervision and liability often causes uncertainty when working with children and young people.

  • How much supervision is necessary, how little supervision is possible?
  • When are minors themselves liable, when are supervisors liable, when are facilities such as day nurseries, schools or clubs liable?
  • Can coercion be used to enforce the duty of supervision?

This area of tension between law and education is examined on the basis of the relevant legal aspects and current case law. The seminar shows which factors influence the extent and scope of the duty of supervision and how these factors can be analysed and observed in practice in a subject-specific and appropriate manner.

You will learn

  • when the duty of supervision generally begins and ends,
  • what its scope and objective is and
  • what requirements jurisdiction places on the fulfilment of supervision.

Using practical examples, you will practise transferring and applying these general requirements to your own cases. You will learn whether you are allowed to use coercion to enforce your duty of supervision or to prevent harm to minors or others. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your own cases and examples.
