Improving living conditions in the neighbourhood - THAT'S WHAT I WANT.

Community work aims to positively develop living conditions in neighbourhoods or districts with particular social and integration policy challenges.

Community work aims to create structures and conditions for the active participation of previously disadvantaged groups in the community life of a society.

It makes an important contribution to social cohesion and to improving the local quality of life. Central to this is the involvement of local people, strengthening their ability to act and self-organisation.

The community work qualification offers a well-founded examination of the concepts, methods and practices of community work.

It invites you to deepen your knowledge, position yourself and reflect. Practical projects during the course of the training programme enable theory-practice transfer and strengthen the ability to act.

The qualification comprises a total of 8 modules.

The Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration allows full-time community work professionals, primarily from community work projects that are supported via the community work scholarship programme (guidelines for the funding of community work in districts / neighbourhoods with special social and integration policy challenges from 2 December 2019), to attend free of charge. Interested applicants from other GWA contexts can be considered for attendance at the qualification programme if there are still places available after the allocation to applicants from GWA funding projects.

To apply for a free of charge attendance place, applicants must be willing to actively participate in and contribute to all modules of the qualification.
