After your dual study programme, you will not only have at least 3 years of professional experience, but also a state-approved university degree. Depending on the discipline, you will complete your dual study programme with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). For the dual Bachelor's programmes , you will need an entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or a general university entrance qualification. You can also enter the dual study programme with an intermediate school-leaving certificate and successfully completed professional training under certain conditions. The dual Master's programme requires a degree qualifying for entry into a profession. The other conditions may vary depending on the study programme.
Firstly, you apply to one of our practical placement partners (step 1). You send all relevant documents, such as your transcript of records, curriculum vitae, etc., to the enterprise and go through a normal application process. If you reach an agreement with an enterprise about the dual study programme, you conclude a learning agreement (step 2).
Finally, you apply to the university (3rd step, see below).
As a rule, enterprises start the application process early, sometimes more than a year in advance. However, as not all positions can always be filled, it may be worth applying at a later stage.
Applications with a German university entrance qualification or a first degree in Germany must be submitted via the Fulda University of Applied Sciences application portal. The application period for the winter semester (Bachelor's degree and Master's degree) starts on 15 April and ends on 30 September. For the summer semester (Master's only), applications can be submitted from 15 October to 31 March.
Applications with a foreign university entrance qualification or a first degree from outside Germany must be submitted via the uni-assist application portal. The application period for the winter semester (Bachelor's degree and Master's degree) starts on 1 March and ends on 30 September. For the summer semester (Master's degree only), applications can be submitted from 1 September to 31 March . However, it is advisable not to wait until the last day. When applying via uni-assist, you can also upload your learning agreement. The status of your application can be viewed on the uni-assist portal. If you are admitted, you will receive access data for horstl from the Student Administration. You can then accept your place (see step3.2). It is important that you describe your problem as specifically as possible. Provide as much data about yourself as possible on the hotline and by email (study programme, name, applicant number, etc.) - this will enable your questions to be answered more quickly and effectively.
