It’s important to us that you’re able to combine both aspects – the theory at the university and the placements at your placement partner – in the best possible way.

The formal conditions

For the dual Bachelor's programmes , you will need an entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife) or a general university entrance qualification (Allgemeine Hochschulreife). Under certain conditions, you can also enrol on a dual study programme if you hold an intermediate school-leaving certificate (Mittlere Reife) and have successfully completed professional/vocational training. The dual Master's programme requires a degree qualifying for entry into a profession. The specific additional conditions may vary depending on the study programme.

Three steps to a dual study programme

First, you apply to one of our placement partners ( Step 1). To do this, you submit your application documents – such as transcripts of records, your curriculum vitae and any other relevant documents – to the placement partner and go through the standard application process. Once you and the placement partner have agreed that you have been accepted onto the dual study programme, a learning agreement will then be drawn up (Step 2).

The final step is to apply for and complete matriculation at Fulda University of Applied Sciences (Step 3).

Many placement partners begin their selection procedures well in advance – in some cases more than a year before the start of programme. However, it is still worth applying later, as not all dual study places can always be filled immediately.
