Soft skills & personal competences

The culturally reflective peer multiplier training is aimed at students (from the 3rd semester) who have already acquired a sound knowledge of cultural reflexivity, interculturality and intercultural theories during their university studies and are interested in gaining initial experience as a culturally reflective multiplier.

The training can be credited as an elective (compulsory) module in individual study programmes.

Training as a FiduS practical supervisor

The FiduS project in Sports Centre offers active exercise breaks during courses. The FiduS practical supervisor training courses take place at the beginning of each semester with registration via Sports Centre. In addition to the certificate, there is a remuneration for each guided FiduS break.

Today, "European competence" is a key qualification. The certificate programme on offer provides the opportunity to acquire this key qualification. The program is aimed at students from all departments at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and can be completed alongside their studies. Successful attendance is recognised with a certificate.

The foreign language certificate is an offer of the language centre, which is located at the SK department, at level B2 or C1 and can be acquired by all students through language courses in English, French or Spanish in the scope of 6 SWS as well as an English foreign language certificate on other foreign languages.

In collaboration with the Sports Centre and the health insurance provider Techniker Krankenkasse, the TK Mental Strategies seminar offers applicable strategies for effective stress management and optimisation of your own time and learning management during university studies.

It is one of the buzzwords of our time: sustainability. We come across the term frequently in everyday life, but very different facets of sustainability are also becoming increasingly important in the world of work. With the Sustainability Certificate, Fulda University of Applied Sciences is now offering its students an additional qualification in this area.

As part of the sustainability certificate, you can learn and specialise in both the basics and subject-specific sustainability knowledge. After successfully completing the necessary modules, you will receive the certificate, which attests to the competences you have learnt and offers you added value when applying for jobs.

The sustainability certificate is offered centrally to all students across all disciplines.

In the tutorial work area, students learn and implement the methodological and didactic design of tutorials. The qualification for tutorial assistants can be completed over one semester or spread over the course of university studies with a certificate in one of the two specialisations "classic" or in an online context.

The E³UDRES² Alliance networks universities in rural regions of Europe for the funding of the European education and research area through transnational collaboration. Students can take part in a wide range of English-language events, with the possibility of travel expenses being covered for specific courses.

Methodological expertise

An online course on academic research is offered to students through the promotion of self-study. The course materials were created by the Office for Learning and Teaching at Fulda University of Applied Sciences as part of the digLL project (digitally supported teaching and learning in Hesse) and are licenced under Creative Commons 4.0 CC BY.

Different course formats are offered. Depending on the editing format, the course can be credited as an elective (compulsory) module in individual study programmes.

The online course "IT basics" is a self-study course that provides an introduction to the tools and programs used at the university, so that you have a good introduction to the university's IT and are well equipped for your university studies. The course was developed for the entire university as part of the GO-IN project.

Citavi is a Windows-based software for literature management and knowledge organisation, which is available to all members of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences through the campus licence(detailed information on Citavi).

In our training course, you will learn the basic functions and how to import data. You will also learn how to create links to your word processing files in order to create standardised citations and reference lists.

Do you want to find literature for your seminar, university studies, project or thesis quickly and efficiently and are not (yet) able to find your way through the "information jungle"? Then we can help you!

In our "Systematic research" training course, we will familiarise you with the basics of literature research and use examples to show you how to search systematically in FILIP and in databases.

The university libraries in Hesse have jointly decided to open up online training opportunities to each other. This means that students and active participation at Fulda University of Applied Sciences can also take part in digital training courses and workshops at TU Darmstadt or Giessen University Library, for example.

Offers in the curriculum

The ZDK is a cooperation between the departments of applied computer science and social and cultural sciences. As a novelty at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, it combines theoretical basics and practical expertise from both academic worlds. Digitisation as a core topic forms the interface between visual communication and social practices in society.

In the seminars Entrepreneurship I and II, students can acquire the basics of business administration and strengthen soft skills in order to understand the entire process from their own business idea to the foundation and implement it in a business plan.

This elective module of the AI departmentis aimed at students of non-technical study programmes to learn about relevant technical basics of computer technology through weekly online lessons on the HELP teaching platform and practical practice classes. The module has the module number W1506SU.
