Enrolment

Thank you for choosing Fulda University of Applied Sciences! You will find all relevant information about your matriculation under the following points.

After successful matriculation, you will automatically receive a welcome email from us.

Do you have any questions?

Please send an email with your application number to: horstl(at)hs-fulda.de.

What is the deadline for enrolling?

The deadline for enrolling varies depending on the study programme and/or admission date. The Horstl application portal will show you the deadline for accepting a place and applying for enrolment for each application.

If your study programme comes with a notification of admission, the enrolment deadline will also be listed again.

IMPORTANT: You must have accepted your place, requested confirmation of health insurance, uploaded your enrolment documents and paid the semester fees by the enrolment deadline. Final enrolment by the Student Administration Office can also take place after the enrolment deadline has expired.

Which health insurance certificate do I need?

Important note on enrolment: Digital insurance confirmation required! No enrolment without digital insurance confirmation!

Before you enrol at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, you must request an electronic notification of your insurance status from a statutory German health insurance provider (§199a SGB V). The sender number for the Fulda University of Applied Sciences is H0003119. Please note that paper documents or the health card will not be accepted as evidence.

Contact a statutory health insurance provider to arrange the notification. The health insurance provider will check your insurance status and usually register it electronically with Fulda University of Applied Sciences within 2-5 working days.
Your status will be marked as:

  • "legally insured" or
  • "exempt" (exempt from insurance, released from compulsory insurance, not subject to compulsory insurance).

You must then enter your insurance status during the online enrolment process. If you pass a statutory insurance, you must also enter your health insurance provider and your insurance number in the portal. After completing your matriculation, the university will also send a digital confirmation of matriculation to your health insurance provider.

ATTENTION: Certificates will not be sent by post/email.

As soon as the electronic notification has been received in our system and assigned to your enrolment application, you will receive an automatic email confirmation.

Important: A (new) electronic notification is not required if you are already enrolled as a student and are merely transferring to another study programme or starting another one.

International students who need information on the German health insurance system or support in organising electronic registration can contact Ms Pusch-Thomas at the International Office.
