de-registration without a degree

If you wish to terminate your university studies without a degree , you can apply for de-registration self-employed in horstl. You can apply for exmatriculation on any date or at the end of the current semester. Here you will find step-by-step instructions on how to apply for de-registration.

de-registration with a degree

Option 1: You continue studying at the university. (e.g. Master's, other study programme)
The previous study programme is terminated and you can start your new study programme. All certificates available to you in horstl will be adjusted during the entire process so that only the current study programme is visible.

Option 2: You are no longer studying at the university
If this is the case, please apply for de-registration in horstl yourself. To do this, you need to state a reason and the desired de-registration date.
If we do not hear from you by the end of the semester, de-registration will take place automatically without any additional application via horstl.

You do not need to apply for de-registration online if you have successfully completed your degree.

de-registration ex officio

  • Please note: If you de-registration during the current semester, a refund of the semester fee is not possible.
  • By default, de-registration is pronounced at the end of a current semester (for the summer semester on 30/09/ for the winter semester on 31/03). Student status passes until the end of the semester.
  • De-registration on the cut-off date is also possible. Please note that student status expires on the cut-off date and that this has financial and insurance implications (e.g. health insurance, BAföG grant, child benefit).
