What can the student ID card do?

The student ID card in chip card form contains your picture and a validity date and thus serves as your student ID. You keep your student ID card for the duration of your university studies at the university. The student ID card is always valid for one semester (see imprint). After you have re-registered for the coming semester, you must update the validity date at the validation machine in the Student Service Centre - SSC (Building 10). Validation can only be carried out on site.

The student ID card is no longer valid as a ticket. After successful re-enrolment for the next semester, the Deutschlandsemesterticket is available for download. Further information on the Deutschlandsemesterticket.

The student ID card in the form of a chip card also serves as a library card. Your 12-digit library card number is printed on the back of the card in plain text and as a barcode. A library account is automatically set up for you. Before you use the card as a library card for the first time, please set a password. The email address for setting a password will be sent to your university email address. Further information about the library card.

You can use the electronic lockers at Fulda University of Applied Sciences with your student ID card. Please note that the lockers are day lockers and may not be left vouched for outside opening times.

After initialising your student ID card once at the initialisation terminal, you can top it up with banknotes at the two top-up terminals. You will find the terminals in the entrance area of the cafeteria. You can now use your student ID wallet to pay for everything in the cafeteria, from lunch to coffee and snacks. At lunch, your student status is automatically recognised at the checkout and only the student meal price is debited from your wallet. Cash payment is not possible. Always treat your student ID card like cash! You can have your remaining balance paid out at the cash desk in the snack bar.

You can also use your student ID card for photocopiers, printouts and scans. You will find the printers/photocopiers in the library, in the Self-Study Centre and in the computer pools (Building 40, Room 006 and Building 20, Room 019).

You can top up credit for printing/copying/scanning in the Weinrich company's copy shop (Building 51) and via the top-up terminal in Building 46.

The Weinrich company is available for all questions relating to photocopier/printing and scanning functions.
You can have any existing credit paid out in the Weinrich company's copy shop if you can present your student ID.

Return of the student ID card

The student identity card does not have to be returned after completing the degree programme. However, if you exmatriculate during the current semester, you must return your student ID card. Any remaining balance on your student ID card can be refunded at the relevant service points (canteen or copy shop) prior to its return.

Loss of the student ID card

IMPORTANT: Please report the loss of your student ID card to the Information Point immediately!

You can get a new student ID card quickly and easily at the Information Point in the Student Service Centre (Building 10). You will need to complete a declaration of loss in lieu of an oath and pay an administrative charge of 15 euros by debit card.
