University Entrance Examination

In principle, it is possible to acquire the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification for the respective field of study by taking a higher education entrance examination for vocationally qualified persons.

Due to the complexity of the subject, there may still be some uncertainties. We will therefore be happy to assist you in answering any questions you may have.

As the name suggests, the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification opens up access to certain subjects. With the previous achievements, one proves, so to speak, the ability to study similar subjects.

Admission to the university entrance examination is open to those who:

  • a recognised vocational training of at least two years in a field related to the intended degree programme and
  • can provide evidence of at least two years of full-time employment in a field related to the course of study.

In this case, "professionally related" means that there must be a substantive connection between the vocational training, the professional activity and the degree programme. A common thread, if you will. Without this subject-related relationship, admission to the university entrance examination is not possible. If there is no connection in terms of content, this can be established through further training (min. 400 hours). These must also have a subject-related connection to the desired degree programme.

The examination boards for taking the university entrance examinations are - depending on the field of study - located at different colleges and universities throughout Hessen. At Fulda University of Applied Sciences there is currently the examination board for the field of study Health, Nursing and Therapy Sciences. You can find the relevant examination board in the list of examination boards in the state of Hesse.

Important! Please submit your documents on time and in full, as these form the basis for processing your application. The date of receipt by the university (cut-off deadline) is decisive for meeting the deadline. Applications received after this date or incomplete applications cannot be considered.
