submission of theses

Submission of Bachelor's and Master's theses

Both Bachelor's and Master's theses must be uploaded electronically to the horstl portal.

The thesis must be saved and uploaded in PDF/A-1 format. This ensures clear visual reproducibility and the document looks exactly the same to the reader as it does to you.

The examiners specify whether a paper version of the thesis should additionally be handed in. You should discuss this directly with the examiners. Please clarify with the examiners or the Dean's Office where exactly the printed copy should be handed in.

All required documents - including your thesis, an anonymised version and, if applicable, an appendix - must be submitted by the deadline. The submission date, which you can find in horstl, is the deadline. The electronic submission via horstl must have been submitted by 11:59 pm .

OUR ADVICE: Be sure to upload a test document beforehand and do not hand in the final file! This will save you stress during the actual submission.

Late submission

If you have not uploaded your thesis via horstl by the deadline, you must contact the relevant Examination Board in your department, stating your reasons. They will decide how to proceed and whether the thesis can still be accepted.

Extension of the submission deadline

If you would like to extend the submission deadline for your thesis, you can apply for this using the application for extension form. Please send the completed application to horstl(at)hs-fulda.de

Please note that only study programmes that have specified an extension in the examination regulations are listed here and can be applied for here. If your examination regulations do not contain any information in this regard, please contact your Examination Board directly for an individual decision.
