What do I need to do?

Getting started

Student ID card

Apply for your student ID card at the start of your university studies. You’ll need your student ID card to pay in the cafeteria / refectory, sit 1. examinations and 2. assessments, make photocopies, and use the scanner, as a key for lockers, and as your library card.

At Fulda University of Applied Sciences, you can use the eduroam Wi-Fi. Eduroam is a global initiative that gives you internet access at academic facilities all over the world.

Take a course

To take a course, log in to horstl using your student user identification. Click on the ‘Courses’ tab and then ‘View Schedule of Lectures’. Only those who are registered in horstl are entitled to a place on the module.

Germany Ticket

Since 1 April 2024, students at Fulda University of Applied Sciences (with the exception of a few distance-learning programmes) have been receiving the digital Germany Semester Ticket. The cost is included in the semester fee.

A confident start

horstl

horstl is Fulda University of Applied Sciences’ campus management system. Here you can matriculate and register your new address. Later on, you can use horstl to manage your 1. examinations, grades and re-enrolment.

The campus map will help you find your way around the campus. It shows not only all the buildings, but also car parks, bus stops and barrier free access.

Your student user identification is your fd number. You will receive your fd number by email shortly after enrolment.

matriculation number

The matriculation number is an identification number that all students are given during their enrolment at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. You will keep this matriculation number for the duration of your studies.

Dates

Fulda University of Applied Sciences invites all new students to central events such as a welcome address by the university president and a series of information events. In addition, the departments organise further events to welcome their new students and ensure they get off to the best possible start in their university studies.
