Personal requirements
PRECOURSES
In the maths pre-course, you can brush up on your school knowledge and close any gaps - and get to know your fellow students before you start your studies.
The Ready2Code online course makes it easier for you to get started with your first programming lecture. Information on setting up the computer, initial programming steps and insights into the Moodle learning platform.
STUDY PROCESS
The Digital Media degree programme primarily teaches technical content relating to programming (e.g. networks, database systems, software engineering, etc.) and mathematics. In addition, business fundamentals and the basics of digital design are taught. The focus is on the technical realisation of digital media with design components.
In the 4th and 5th semesters, you will have the opportunity to deepen your personal interests in the field of digital media (media design, media informatics) by taking part in five compulsory elective subjects. In the final semester, you will first complete an internship (3 months) in a company or institution and then write your final thesis.
THE STUDY PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE
The study plan provides you with a structured overview of the modules and semesters.
In addition to basic knowledge, you can specialise in one of the two subject areas by choosing elective modules:
MEDIA DESIGN
The focus here is on creative design and the digitalisation of media such as digital photography, media didactics or the theoretical foundations of visualisation.
MEDIAINFORMATICS
Media Informatics deals with technical topics such as digital image processing, multimedia communication, microcontroller programming or IT security.
