Sustainability
Solve fundamental future problems in an innovative way.

In view of the global rise in greenhouse gas emissions, the expansion of renewable energies is a decisive step towards effective climate protection and reducing these emissions.
Renewable energies utilise natural processes and renewable raw materials to generate electricity, heat and fuels. A reliable energy supply requires intelligent networking of generation, distribution and consumption in order to ensure security of supply and avoid conflicts over raw materials.
In the Renewable Energy study programme, you will learn how to meet these technical, business and social challenges responsibly. You will acquire the skills to develop and implement innovative solutions for one of the most pressing problems of the future.
Actively shape the energy transition and secure yourself a sustainable career with a future!
The Renewable Energies study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is available in four variants. The basic variant is the fastest way to become an engineer: the shortest number of semesters, full-time, on site and on campus.
A basic requirement: you consider the energy transition to be an important step into the future. We take an interest in scientific, technical and mathematics issues for granted. However, you are also interested in aspects such as sustainability, resource conservation and efficiency. You are open to new ideas and curious enough to solve tricky questions. The following personal conditions are an advantage:
The standard duration of studies for the Bachelor's degree programme in Renewable Energies is seven semesters. The study programme is divided into four semesters of basic studies and three semesters of advanced studies. In line with the career orientation of the study programme, the content passes modules in electrical engineering supplemented by modules in mechanical engineering.
While the first four semesters are mainly made up of compulsory modules, in the fifth and sixth semesters you set your individual specialisation by choosing compulsory elective modules and individual project work. In the final seventh semester, you will acquire additional practical skills in the professional appointment process during the 15-week practical placements and provide evidence of your ability to solve problems independently with your Bachelor's thesis.
University entrance qualification
Applicants who have not applied for their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking facility must provide evidence of German skills at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (DSH-2 or equivalent).
With German educational certificates: 15 April to 30 September; with foreign educational certificates: 1 March to 30 September
The Renewable Energies study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is available in four variants:

Following your Bachelor's degree, you can gain further qualifications with a Master's programme or start your career straight away. Hardly any other university studies programme offers such a diverse range of applications for graduates as renewable energies. Possible professional fields include energy supply companies, manufacturers and operators of wind, water and solar power plants, research and development institutions, the automotive industry, mechanical and plant engineering and the manufacturing industry.
Renewable energies are an important future market with great potential. After completing their university studies, graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities in small, medium-sized and large enterprises in the region as well as on the national labour market. These can be in plant planning, maintenance, sales, quality management or energy consulting, for example.

The study programme is an offer of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Find out more about your new environment, teaching, laboratories and your future professors on the department's website.
