  • You are interested in the natural sciences, social sciences and business sciences relating to nutrition, food, health, quality management, supply and sustainability.
  • You want to consider economic, ecological and social aspects.
  • You work in different fields of business, education, politics and society.
  • You enjoy innovative and project-orientated tasks.

To make it easier to start your university studies, we recommend the preliminary course, which is offered two weeks before the start of the programme. We offer specialist support in the form of tutorials for some modules in the first two semesters. The "OEC Mentoring Team" (students in their 3rd semester) provides support throughout the first year with questions about university studies and the university, and the "Team Stube:Oe" (inter-student advisory service) is also happy to help.

The university studies have an interdisciplinary structure and last six semesters. In the first semesters, you will acquire the basics of natural sciences, social sciences and business sciences. You will consolidate your theoretical knowledge in the first academic year with integrated project work. A work placement semester outside the university in the fifth semester rounds off the practice orientation.

Special feature: The project-based learning programme

As early as the first academic year, students work and learn in working groups - the course projects. Valuable soft skills are acquired during the course of university studies: putting theory into practice, building team skills, expanding organisational and communication skills. This experience is a decisive advantage in terms of later professional life. The ability to think and act in an interdisciplinary way and the willingness to engage in lifelong learning are supported.

In the fourth semester, students decide on an individual qualification profile for the following specialisations

  • Nutrition and Health
  • Food industry and food quality
  • Sustainability and quality management
  • Education, politics, society
