international
The study programme prepares you for working in an international environment.
In the first two semesters, the study programme introduces students to three engineering disciplines: Applied computer science, electrical engineering and food technology. Students are thus familiarised with different specialist disciplines and acquire basic skills. In the third semester, students specialise in one of these areas.
The study programme is aimed at both international and German prospective students, especially those with a migration background.
The language of instruction on the foundation degree programme is English. This facilitates access to university studies for international students and supports the language skills of German students.
In addition to subject-specific knowledge, linguistic, intercultural, social and cultural sciences competences are taught.
The Bachelor's programme in Science and Engineering starts in the winter semester. The standard duration of studies is 8 semesters (240 ECTS credits). In the first 2 semesters of the study programme, general engineering basics (including mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry) are taught in English. An important competence objective of this "basic study programme" is to learn German at the level of the DSH II examination (for students with German as their mother tongue, this is replaced by an equivalent foreign language course). In an "orientation module", essential contents of the three specialisations offered (applied computer science, electrical engineering, food technology) are to be introduced. This is intended to make it easier to choose the specialisation (semesters 3 - 8).
Detailed information on the course of study and a detailed description of the individual modules can be found in the current examination regulations.
Applied computer science, electrical engineering, food technology
University entrance qualification
Evidence of language skills in German at level B1 and in English at level B2
With German educational certificates: 15 April to 30 September; with foreign educational certificates: 1 March to 30 September
The study programme prepares students for working in an international environment. Graduates acquire the competence to plan, process and analyse technical tasks and problems in engineering subjects.
In addition to entering the world of work, graduates have the opportunity to continue their university studies on a related Master's degree programme.
The study programme is an offer from the Department of Food Technology, the Department of Applied Computer Science and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Find out more about your new environment, the teaching and your future professors on the department websites.
