The Social Security and Social Administration study programme is aimed at prospective students,
The part-time university studies programme is particularly suitable for occupations who
A relevant occupation during the course of studies (preferably in the field of social administration or the social economy or interest in transferring to this field after the degree) should generally only comprise part-time employment with an average of half the regular weekly working hours due to the study requirements. However, part-time employment is not a mandatory condition for taking up university studies. However, a higher proportion of employment may lead to a corresponding extension of the study period due to the content requirements of the university studies.
The university studies comprise 17 e-learning modules (which can be studied almost anywhere and at any time) and 7 on-campus modules (only one on-campus weekend per month). The elective modules pass opportunities for more advanced studies in areas such as health and work; advisory services for adolescents and young adults; funding the labour market participation of migrants; social/benefit law.
The study programme is consistently modularised and thus enables the recognition of previous knowledge (e.g. through professional experience or parts of a previous degree) and thus individually tailored university studies. This makes it easy to combine professional, family / nursing, leisure and university studies!
On-campus stages
The on-campus stages take place once a month at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences:

The combination of university studies with a close link between theory and practice offers many advantages: The knowledge from the seminars and practice classes can be used directly in practice and after completing your university studies, you already have both feet on the ground in the working world. A dual study programme is also financially rewarding, as you usually receive a monthly salary.

The main approach for graduates is the job centres - nationwide. There is a need for qualified staff in this field everywhere. The Federal Employment Agency is also a potential employer.
The university studies also qualify graduates for employment with all employers in public administration - especially social administration - but also with welfare organisations (e.g. in the field of child and youth welfare), educational institutions and rehabilitation facilities.
Other professional fields for BASS graduates include, for example, head of staff unit or head of the controlling division in a local administration, consultant work, various management positions (team, project, specialised service and division heads).
Further university studies? That's also possible! The Bachelor's degree gives you access to various Master's study programmes (e.g. social law, advisory services, social space).

”What is special about the BASS study programme is not only the content, which is related to practice and up to date, but above all the mix of students from young and old, with or without professional experience and from different regions or areas of work. Personally, I was able to put a lot of what I learnt into practice in my appointment and the degree paved the way to my current field of work. So: BASS did everything right.
”The dual study programme "Social Security and Social Administration" at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences was the perfect choice for me. The close integration of theory and practice enabled me to grow professionally and use what I had learnt directly in my everyday professional life. The compatibility of university studies with my personal circumstances was particularly valuable to me. This university studies programme has not only helped me professionally, but also personally.
”Before university studies, I was in a secure, permanent job that offered me stability, especially with three children and a house. Nevertheless, I was missing fulfilment in my job at the time. When the children grew up and I felt it was time to try something new, I decided to leave my secure job behind and start BASS university studies at the age of 38. The perfect balance between university studies and family life, the diversity of fellow students and the exchange with other "mums" made university studies a special experience. Looking back, I haven't regretted taking this step for a second.
