They combine engineering expertise with knowledge of markets and business management concepts.

Today, product requirements are caught between growing customer demands for energy-saving, environmentally friendly and user-friendly devices and increasing complexity in terms of efficient production processes, short logistics chains and careful use of resources. Products must be increasingly safe, consume little energy and be recyclable.
As a business engineer, you combine engineering knowledge with knowledge of markets and business concepts. This puts you at the interface between business and technology. You will implement projects in all divisions and learn everything about the integration of new technologies in operational processes: from the optimisation of operational processes to modern logistics applications and sales solutions through to quality management.
There are four variants of the Engineering and Management Electrical Engineering study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. The basic variant is the fastest way to become an engineer: the shortest number of semesters, full-time, on site and on campus.
They should be curious enough to get to the bottom of things. And you should also have the determination to solve tricky questions. At school, you were interested in politics and business, but did not lose sight of the natural sciences. You like to think in broader contexts.
As a business engineer, you see solutions not only as technical challenges but also as complex tasks. You focus on the customer's perspective as well as on technical, logistical and social framework conditions and endeavour to design optimal concepts.
The standard duration of studies for the Bachelor's degree programme in Engineering and Management in Electrical Engineering is seven semesters. The study programme is divided into four semesters of basic studies and three semesters of advanced studies.
While the first four semesters are mainly comprised of compulsory modules, in the fifth and sixth semesters you will set your individual specialisation by choosing compulsory elective modules and individual project work. In the final 7th semester, you will acquire additional practical skills in the professional appointment process during the 15-week practical placement phase and demonstrate your ability to solve problems independently with your Bachelor's thesis.
The Engineering and Management Electrical Engineering study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is available in four variants:

After completing your Bachelor's degree, you can go on to qualify for a Master's programme or start your career straight away.
Possible professional fields are in the areas of: Automotive, aerospace industry, energy supply companies, information and communications technology, medical technology, logistics, research and development and mechanical engineering.
Industrial engineers are currently among the most sought-after specialists on the labour market. As intermediaries between technology and business administration, they can be employed in almost all sectors, whether nationally or regionally. Career opportunities are particularly good in interface areas such as project planning, technical purchasing, production control, quality management, controlling, sales and marketing, where technical and business knowledge and cross-professional competences are required.

The study programme is an offer of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Find out more about your new environment, teaching, laboratories and your future professors on the department's website.
