Engineering and Management Electrical Engineering – Integra

BWL MEETS ENGINEERING

Today, product requirements are caught between growing customer demands for energy-saving, environmentally friendly and user-friendly devices and increasing complexity in terms of efficient production processes, short logistics chains and careful use of resources. Products must be increasingly safe, consume little energy and be recyclable.

As a business engineer, you combine engineering knowledge with knowledge of markets and business concepts. This puts you at the interface between business and technology. You will implement projects in all divisions and learn everything about the integration of new technologies in operational processes: from the optimisation of operational processes to modern logistics applications and sales solutions through to quality management.

There are four variants of the Engineering and Management Electrical Engineering study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. The Integra programme is aimed at international students who are developing their German skills in parallel with their university studies.

Among other things, they take into account the sparing use of resources in their developments.

Learn German in a relaxed way

Expand your language skills as an international student during your university studies.

They should be curious enough to get to the bottom of things. And you should also have the determination to solve tricky questions. At school, you were interested in politics and business, but did not lose sight of the natural sciences. You like to think in broader contexts.

As a business engineer, you see solutions not only as technical challenges but also as complex tasks. You focus on the customer's perspective as well as on technical, logistical and social framework conditions and endeavour to design optimal concepts.

The standard duration of studies for the Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Management in Electrical Engineering is seven semesters. The study programme is divided into four semesters comprising basic university studies and the three-semester specialisation course that builds on this.

While the first four semesters are mainly made up of compulsory modules, in the fifth and sixth semesters you set your own individual specialisation by choosing compulsory elective modules and individual project work. In the final 7th semester, you will acquire additional practical skills in the professional appointment process during the 15-week practical placement phase and demonstrate your ability to solve problems independently with your Bachelor's thesis.

  • Automation and robotics - This specialisation deals with the automation and control of robots or production systems, among other things.
  • Computer Engineering - This specialisation deals with control devices and embedded systems, such as those found in smartphones or coffee machines.
  • Electromobility - This specialisation focuses on electric drives and modern concepts of energy management and energy efficiency.
  • Renewable energies - The focus is on topics relating to renewable energy generation, such as the generation, storage and transport of wind and solar energy.

  • University entrance qualification
  • Applicants who have not applied for their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking facility must provide evidence of German skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (DSH-2 or equivalent).

  • With German educational certificates: 15 April to 30 September
  • with foreign educational certificates: 1 March to 30 September

FIND YOUR STUDY OPTION

There are four variants of the Engineering and Management Electrical Engineering study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences: As full-time studies on site on campus, as a dual study programme in cooperation with an enterprise and extended practical placements, as an extended full-time study programme on site with additional supervision in the basic subjects and as a study programme with adapted language requirements, in which international students start with fewer German skills and can extend their knowledge in the extended programme structure.

At the interface of Business and technology
