An der Hochschule Fulda finden immer mehr Kurse und Seminare im Bereich der (wissenschaftlichen) Weiterbildung statt - außerhalb der regulären Studiengänge.
Zum Beispiel gibt es in der internen Personalentwicklung diverse Angebote für die Mitarbeitenden der Hochschule. Im Zentrum für wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung werden zahlreiche Fortbildungen angeboten, die vor allem für Externe gedacht und kostenpflichtig sind. Der Ablauf all dieser Fortbildungen - von der Planung, Anmeldung, Durchführung bis hin zur Zertifikatsausstellung und Rechnungsstellung ist ein organisatorischer Kraftakt und fehleranfällig.
Mit der Einführung einer Bildungsmanagementsoftware kann der Prozess zukünftig in einem System durchgeführt werden: keine Webformulare, Ecxeltabellen und Word-Vorlagen mehr, die in Einklang gebracht werden müssen. Das Ziel ist, den kompletten Prozess in einem System abzubilden.

Mission
The university establishes a digital academy for the acquisition of digital key competences, which refer to the European reference framework, DigComp. In the area of employees, there is cooperation with the city and district of Fulda in the area of competence surveys and training courses. In the area of students, curricular anchoring is being strived for. University staff can offer training at all levels themselves.

Migration von Groupwise zu Microsoft Exchange (Outlook)

Ausgelöst durch eine Nutzendenumfrage und der bevorstehenden Einführung des Dokumentenmanagementsystems wurde beschlossen, dass die Hochschule Fulda von Groupwise als Mail und Kalender-Lösung hin zu einer Microsoft Exchange-basierten Lösung ("Outlook") migrieren wird. Derzeit befindet sich das Projekt in der Konzeptionsphase, weshalb noch keine Aussagen zum Zeitplan getroffen werden können.

The scientists at Fulda University of Applied Sciences (HFD) conduct research and development on various topics with colleagues at their own university, but also with external project partners from science, business and society. With the Research Information System (FIS), the HFD wants to present this research and development work in a bundled form: Which topics are covered, who is involved, what funds are used and much more will be available in the FIS in the future.

Over the last few years, the university has grown rapidly. What was partially automated or managed by hand yesterday must be automated in the future and transferred to self-service offerings. To this end, the project to introduce an identity and access management system (IAM) is being set up. With the introduction, points such as harmonisation of user identifications, life-cycle management of identities and accounts and self-service offers for the (specialist) departments are to be achieved and optimised.

Digitalisation in Germany is advancing in leaps and bounds. It is a driver for growth and modernisation and helps to build more efficient structures and processes. The public administration would like to use this potential for itself. In the Online Access Act (OZG), the Federal Government and the Länder committed themselves to offering all services of the German administration completely digitally. Under the strategic goal of user-friendliness, the aim is to build on existing structures and catch up with international comparisons in the area of e-government. Achieving these goals at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is the task of the OZG project.
