Contact person for anti-discrimination
The Hessian Higher Education Act (Hess. HG), which was amended in December 2021, strengthens protection against discrimination at universities. These are required to ensure non-discriminatory university studies and professional or academic appointments and to eliminate any discrimination against their members and staff.
The anti-discrimination contact person is in charge of preventing and raising awareness of discrimination. They serve as the first point of contact for all university members who have experienced or observed discrimination. In accordance with Section 6 (2) of the Hessian Higher Education Act (HessHG), the anti-discrimination contact person works independently and is not bound by instructions. This independence guarantees that all concerns are dealt with objectively, free from conflicts of interest. In addition, they must be informed about all relevant university projects and are also represented on the Extended Presidential Board, for example.
If you have experienced or observed discrimination, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Further information and current office hours can be found on the website of the Anti-Discrimination Office (ADS).
