The frauen@event series supports female students from all departments at Fulda University of Applied Sciences in their personal and professional development. The aim is to expand personal competences and facilitate the entry into professional life. Every semester, various free of charge, extra-curricular courses such as workshops and (subject) presentations are organised on changing topics.
Information about past courses can be found here.
Between lectures, exams and social life, it is often difficult to find time for yourself. The daily demands of studying or the desire to fulfil different expectations can mean that our own needs take a back seat and we no longer go through everyday life in a balanced and stress-free manner.
In the workshops in winter semester 2025/26, you will learn strategies to strengthen your resilience and recharge your batteries in harmony with your body and mind - for greater well-being and a healthy work-life balance.
Please notice that all workshops are held in German and require German language skills!
The workshops require active participation and involvement in discussions. It is therefore necessary that you have sufficient German language skills (recommended at least B1). Please contact me if you have any questions.

Workshop "Exploring personal anger and utilising this powerful energy for yourself"
Anger is an expression of hurt, dissatisfaction or powerlessness. An indication that something in life is not right for us. Many women learn to suppress their anger or turn it against themselves.
The workshop invites you to approach your own anger, to give it expression and to bring its inherent power and energy into motion and use it positively for yourself.
Through movement with music, voice, breathing and other exercises, the connection to yourself and your body is strengthened, energy is set in motion and expressiveness is activated. Personal boundaries and desires become more tangible and support the path to transformation.
Contents:
- How does anger manifest itself in me?
- Strengthening body awareness and connection to oneself
- Activation of personal sources of energy and strength
Speaker: Jutta Wiemer (qualified social pedagogue, alternative practitioner for psychotherapy)

Workshop "Work-life balance - being mindful of yourself and others, strengthening resilience"
In these challenging times, it is almost essential to keep centring and aligning ourselves. So that we can master upcoming tasks with focus and ease and at the same time take enough space for rest, play and regeneration and that we always find our balance, our centre and positive strength.
In this seminar, we will use various exercises for thinking, feeling and the body to help us a) recognise our current situation more "objectively", b) find our centre in order to be calm and centred, stop the carousel of thoughts and feelings and c) be mindful of ourselves in specific (stressful) situations using small tools.
We will also consider the aspect of communication and relationships.
We will work practically with exercises for the head, stomach and heart - and according to the concerns of the participants.
Speaker: Anna H. Schmitt (communication trainer and coach)
