Gender consulting
for departments

Gender Consulting is a project which is part of the Female Professors Programme 2030 to strengthen measures to promote gender equality in the departments.

Initial talks with the departments began in February 2025 - the project runs until 2029 and forms an important basis for the decentralised implementation of gender equality strategies.

Goals

Gender Consulting aims to achieve stronger networking and a continuous exchange between the departments and the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Office (CUV). Together, new, customised measures to promote gender equality are developed and implemented for each department.

This is intended to make gender equality issues more visible in the departments in the long term and thus raise awareness of the issue. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary exchange between the different departments on gender equality issues is supported.

Process

The first step is to carry out a detailed analysis of the current situation in order to identify the individual needs of the respective department. Based on this, customised measures to promote gender equality are designed, which are continuously developed and evaluated.

1) Needs assessment / analysis of the department's individual situation

  • Analysis of relevant key figures (e.g. gender monitoring)
  • Examination of the department's internal target agreements
  • Inventory of existing and completed measures to promote gender equality

2) Development and implementation of new measures

  • Joint development of targeted, equality-promoting measures
  • Continuous advice to the departments and coordination during implementation

Contact persons for gender equality

As part of the project, a contact person for gender equality has been appointed for each department. They provide their expertise with regard to their own departmental culture and act as a multiplier to publicise gender equality measures in the department and support exchange.
